I chatted with a fellow Prime UX Design alum, Ton Hy, about my portfolio and here's some general advice that he wanted to share with you all too! These came from him and the person who hired him, but take it with a grain of salt, everyone will tell you something different 🤷🏽‍♀️

Less is More

The clearer and more succinct your content is, the easier it is for anyone scanning your portfolio.

Visuals!

Continue to use visuals as your main way to display your hard work. This is A LOT more effective than a wall of text.

Story Telling

You'll hear this used a lot but what this means is to simply organize your case studies in a flow that tells your readers your approach and thought process from beginning to end.

WHY

As you continue building out your case studies, remember to include the WHY. Explain briefly why you took the approach you did as this helps readers understand your design process. This is generally tied to the research you conducted. (A great way to bridge the research you did with the design you created)

Impact

This may not be applicable in all case studies. If you find an opportunity to capture an impact you've made due to the result of your design decisions, ALWAYS include it in! This will make your case study so much more memorable.

Challenges/Blockers

Almost in every case study/project, there will be challenges that occur. Create a section to highlight these challenges and speak on how you/your team overcame them.
